Job Description
Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst
Location: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear
Salary/Benefits: £25k – £33k + Training & Benefits
Our client is a UKAS accredited Asbestos company, who are seeking a P401 qualified Lab Analyst for their laboratory in the North East region. The company have a national coverage and excellent track record within the industry, allowing them to support comprehensive further training and development opportunities. Applicants must posesss strong technical knowledge and a methodical approach to their work, and will need a successful background working within a UKAS accredited company. Salaries on offer are competitive and benefits include: pension scheme, training and annual leave allowance.

Experience / Qualifications:
– Must hold the BOHS P401 qualification
– Able to undertake the bulk analysis of ACM samples
– Will have worked within a UKAS accredited laboratory
– Strong literacy and numeracy skills
– Proficient in using IT software
– Able to manage their own workload
The Role:
– Undertaking bulk analysis of samples for the presence of asbestos
– Identifying the type of asbestos in samples
– Logging and storing samples safely
– Using PLM and stereomicroscopy methods
– Updating internal company database to complete reports
– Maintaining the cleanliness and fuction of the laboratory
– Organising repairs and servicing of equipment
– Issuing certificates to clients
– Meeting / exceeding set targets
